Bill Winston Ministries
Dr. William (Bill) Winston is founder and Pastor of Living Word Christian Center, is founder of numerous other ministry and business entities, including Bill Winston Ministries, Joseph Business School, Living Word School of Ministry, Faith Ministries Alliance, Covenant Bancshares, Inc and Covenant Bank, and many others. The ministry also owns two shopping malls, Forest Park Plaza in Forest Park, Illinois and Washington Plaza in Tuskegee, Alabama.
Pastor Winston was born in Tuskegee, Alabama. He served in the US Air Force as a fighter pilot and received numerous awards and medals, including Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal for performance in combat and Squadron Top Gun Pilot.
Pastor Winston is married with three children. His wife is Veronica Brown Winston. His children are Melody, Nicole and David.
Living Word Christian Center was founded in 1989 under the name Living Word Church of Chicago. In 1990 the name was changed to Living Word Christian Center after the ministry moved to Forest Park, Illinois. It currently has over 18,000 members.
The Joseph Business School was founded in 1998 to help entrepreneurs start and grow businesses. The school is certified by the State of Illinois. It currently has a second school location outside of Kansas City, and also offers an on-line program available through the Internet. Plans are currently underway to open schools in Los Angeles, California; South Africa, Jamaica, Zambia, and Haiti.
Dr. Winston is Chairman of the Board of Covenant Bancshares, Inc, (CBI is a holding company) and Covenant Bank in Chicago, Illinois. CBI purchased the Community Bank of Lawndale in March 2008 and changed the name to Covenant Bank in June 2008.
- The mission of CBI is to build a banking system, or "storehouses", that will provide the economic engine for financial empowerment, and the restoration of families, communities, and churches in all economic groups.
- The mission of Covenant Bank is to promote economic development and opportunity in the communities in which the bank serves, while maintaining a profitable, safe, and sound financial instituion.
